2007 Barbera
We are always looking for special, hard-to-find varietals, and have outdone ourselves with this wine. Our 2007 Barbera is a limited production wine made mostly with our Anvil Club members in mind. This rare beauty--only 84 cases produced-- is heaven in a glass!
On the nose, subtle hints of cigar box, white pepper and ripe lilac lead into intense aromas of boysenberry, currants and pomegranate that almost make you swoon. Your first sip will confirm this luscious wine is luxurious with rich flavors of dark cherry, figs, blueberry and licorice. The finish is long and smooth, balanced with lively acidity and mellow tannins. Tall, dark and mysterious, cancel your horseback riding -- the Italian Stallion is here!
When it comes to food pairing, a roasted duck breast with fruit chutney or Asian BBQ short ribs would be delicious. Just make sure the cook has a full glass of our 2007 Barbera at all times. It adds to the inspiration!
