2008 Syrah
The growing season in 2008 was one of cool spring temperatures & rain with a late start for bud break, followed by a summer of average to slightly below average temperatures. Harvest was 10-14 days later than normal, but summer & early fall were dry. Overall, 2008 was a very good vintage across the board with purity of fruit & balance & fine potential to age based on good acid levels.
Syrah is a unique varietal that ripens to reveal complexity, depth, & with age, an elegance few grapes can match, as reflected by our 2008 Syrah! The Syrah fruit is sourced from Boushey Vineyard, consistently yielding high quality grapes, ensuring we have the best components to create our work of art.
This rich, intense wine offers vibrant pomegranate & black cherry aromas with spicy earth & hint of eucalyptus, not to mention classic Syrah funk. The mouth has an opulent texture with flavors of dark concentrated blackberry, ripe figs, subtle spice, smoky bacon & silky tannins. The full body pushes to all corners of the palate with balanced acids.
Nothing could be better than sharing our 2008 Syrah with friends & family. For your next gathering, enjoy a bottle or two with Prime Rib, Duck Saltimbocca, or grilled Portobello Mushrooms stuffed with bacon.
